How to Handle Creditor Phone Calls

1. Start recording before you pick up the phone. 2. Remember to give the creditor your bankruptcy case number and indicate the court it is filed in such as the Southern District of Texas.
3. Once you have done this they must stop asking for payment, but when they do that anyway just let them talk. Many will get themselves into trouble.
4. Warning I recommend against recording live calls from out of state. Even though Texas allows recording of calls with the consent of one party, the laws of other states vary and some impose criminal penalties.
